Marine Ceramic Coating
Marine ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your boat's gelcoat, hull, and painted surfaces, creating a permanent hydrophobic (water-repelling) protective layer. It guards against UV oxidation, saltwater corrosion, fish blood, fuel stains, algae, bird droppings, and fading. As a Starke Yacht Surface Technologies Certified Installer, we apply professional-grade coatings engineered specifically for Florida's harsh marine environment.
In Florida's intense UV and saltwater environment, a professionally applied Starke marine ceramic coating typically lasts 2–5 years depending on the coating tier, vessel usage frequency, and maintenance routine. Regular maintenance washes — which Maritime Shine also offers — maximize the coating's life and performance.
Traditional wax sits on top of the gelcoat and degrades within weeks in Florida's sun and saltwater — requiring reapplication every 1–3 months. Ceramic coating chemically bonds to the surface, creating a semi-permanent shield that is far more durable, scratch-resistant, and hydrophobic. For boat owners on the Gulf Coast, ceramic coating is the smarter long-term investment.
In most cases, yes. The surface must be properly decontaminated, polished, and free of oxidation before ceramic coating is applied. Maritime Shine handles the full preparation process, including oxidation removal, compounding, wet/dry sanding if needed, and machine polishing.

Absolutely. Oxidation removal is one of our most requested services. Using professional-grade compounds, wet and dry sanding, and machine polishing, we can restore deep gloss and color to heavily oxidized hulls and topsides — often making an old, weathered boat look brand new before applying protective ceramic coating.
We recommend a thorough exterior detail every 3–4 months due to constant saltwater exposure, UV intensity, and biological growth. If your boat has a ceramic coating, maintenance washes every 4–6 weeks will keep the coating performing at peak performance. We offer recurring maintenance packages — ask us about scheduling.
Yes. While our primary specialty is marine detailing and ceramic coating, Maritime Shine Detailing also offers auto detailing and ceramic coating services for vehicles in the Naples and Southwest Florida area.
